Freestyle by the Masters

The single and biggest inspiration for freestyle magazine and also Frisbee play itself comes from an amazing book called “Frisbee by the masters” by Charles Tips that was made many years ago and yet still can be classed as one of the best (if not thee best) frisbee play resources to date. We have displayed pictures from the book without rightfully crediting the photographer who is a guy called Mike Fluitt. His pictures of some of the fore- fathers of the sport capture a time when things seemed more fun, playful and above all damn funky.

I do feel that this publication is and was one of the best publications on Frisbee sport. Being in play with these gifted and disciplined athletes was always an inspiration. I was pleased to have finished in their likes on occasion. But more so felt the grace of being one with a group in general that put living ahead of living ahead of others. Of being one as a group that moved towards peace and perfection as a movement that is hard to describe other than flying in thin air.
