Double The Trouble, Twice The Fun
Freestyle Magazine meets Freestyle.Berlin
So the weekend has been and gone, but what a fab one it was! Especially for those of us lucky enough to be at the very first ever Freestyle.Berlin! The 3-day event at Tempelhof airport was a huge success, with an amazing backdrop of the historic airport and over 13,000 visitors and multi-national professionals competing for titles in Freeskiing, Skateboarding and Snow boarding (not forgetting the prize fund of $79,000!!).

She Hannibal and the Freestyle Team spent the whole weekend there, alongside the Berlin Jammers who were showing off their high-flying Frisbee styles.

Come rain or shine, She Hannibal is equipt for all occaisions and will never let a little rain dampen the Freestyle Team’s spirits!

We also introduced for the first time our Freestyle Magazine Girls Team wearing funky outfits by NIKITA. They were a roaring success!

The atmosphere was amazing and even the less than perfect weather on Saturday night couldn’t dampen everyone’s spirits!
Hundreds of pop-up shops were open throughout the weekend to entertain and cater for your every need, we tried our hand at shooting games, LED light walls and even had a try at slacklining with the brilliant guys from Gibbon Slacklines. There was also a wide selection of food on offer, ranging from traditional German Würstchen to amazing gourmet-style Burgers from White Trash Fast Food, who are definitely not your average burger joint.

After all the excitement of the daytime, believe it or not there was more to come! To finish off the sporting events we had a breath-taking Freestyle Moto-cross display before Electro-punk outfit Warren Suicide kicked the party off on Friday night with a concert from the roof of the Red Bull tourbus! Throughout the weekend there were also concerts from Twin Atlantic, Dan Dryers and the amazing one-man accapella, electro AND acoustic performer Ricoloop who was fantastic. If that wasn’t enough, there were still more parties to come with brilliant DJs Urban Knights, Wax Wreckaz DJ Crew, DJs Fra Diavolo and last but not least DJs Drifter & Mortensen playing tunes so we could all dance our socks off until 4am!

And not forgetting the reason the whole event took place; here are the winners from each of the 3 categories:
Snowboarding: Canadian Sebastien Toutant with a great score of 94,25!
Freeskiing: Swedish Henrik Harlaut finishing with a near-perfect score of 96,00!
Skateboarding: Jean Postec from France taking the skateboarding title with an impressive score of 84,67!
For full rankings go to the berlin.freestyle official webpage.
Can’t wait for next year so we can do it all again!

Carolyn, you’ve made me wish I had been there, with enough action to compensate for the cold and wet this weekend. Seems like Freestyle Magazine has found a good addition to the writing desk.
